Repairing the Starter - Honda Civic

Here's how I replaced my starter for repairs:

1. Disconnected the battery.

2. Lifted the rubber insulation covering connecting the positive cable and untwisted the nut to remove the cable from the starter.

3. Unscrewed the bolt holding the negative cable from the starter.

4. Removed 2 bolts securing the starter to the transmission.

5. Removed old starter.

6. Installed new starter.

7. Returned and tightened the 2 bolts holding the starter against the transmission to torque specifications.

8. Reconnected cables and tightened nuts.

9. Reconnected the battery.
